The initial dream van becomes reality - 2014 Toyota Sienna SE purchase

So after I got the sobering news that my previa will be considered totaled. We went to Dublin to a Toyota dealership.

Tony W, VanKulture member, gave my info to one of his friends and in return told me they would help me out.

My wife wanted a 7 seater. But she didn't want a van. She wanted a small SUV. We looked at a new Mitsubishi Outlander, but it was a small, cramped 7 seater.

Anyways, we went to Dublin Toyota and saw some Siennas. A 2014 Silver Sienna SE caught my eye. I loved it...

She test drove it and then she went for the chat with the the salesperson.

Besides a few things I want to address, we got a Sienna!!!

The Previa was my family vehicle. The AC wasn't barely working and at times the AC pump was so taxing on the motor, it would occasionally shut of the van. So I needed to figure that out, but it wasn't the most comfortable for family in that sense.

So we needed to get a new family vehicle that could seat 7 and this was it.

It is used, 2014. 

Recent recall for the door. Waiting for the part. 

Since we bought it last night, I tried looking for things. Tiny ding here, small scratch there.. Nothing I'm too worried about. 

But this morning, I seen 2 "covers" were missing.

I think this is the shifter release.

I don't expect perfect, but this is my new baby.. so I gotta take care of her!

I GOT A COOLBOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found out that the previa had a "cool box", which is like tiny fridge under the dash in the middle, from Toyotavantech. I have seen them only in photos and in Canadian spec previas (unsure if they were in US spec). Even our owner's manual has some mention of them. Often times, I would look at CL in Vancouver BC in hopes someone wants to sell or part a van with it. Now, I've seen a few different versions, in which I don't have the ones that are pictured below. EGR system Clean out and Code P0401

EGR system clean and Code P0401 This is another MUST DO on the previas, especially if you are having issues and code P0401 being thrown. P0401 is "Exhaust Gas Recirculation flow insufficient detected".  Parts: - EGR intake gasket - 25628-76010 - this is on the far right side next to the exhaust. - EGR valve gasket - 25627-76010 - used for the EGR valve to the intake manifold.  -Air inlet duct gasket - 22273-76010 - this is where the air goes into the intake manifold and where   the EGR port gets plugged. 1 container of coolant I did buy a set of crow's feet and Universal joints for the Exhaust pipe. I followed Zenseeker's photo's on every single detail. After the previa was brought to the shop.

As I mentioned, I decided to go all out. I mean replace and hit all the issues that have been common to all Previas!
